CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator - Joinery

Basildon, Essex
£46,000 per annum (£21 per hour DOE)
Monday to Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm

Prime Appointments are working with a leading commercial fit-out and bespoke joinery manufacturer who are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their growing production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Machinist, CNC Woodworking Programmer, CNC Operator, Bench Joiner or Cabinet Maker with experience using Homag machinery and CAD/CAM software within a bespoke joinery or furniture manufacturing environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC woodworking machinery to manufacture high-quality bespoke joinery components for commercial fit-out, furniture and specialist interior projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate Homag CNC woodworking machinery
• Manufacture bespoke joinery components to precise specifications and tight tolerances
• Interpret technical drawings, cutting lists and production documentation
• Produce components for cabinets, fitted furniture, commercial interiors and bespoke joinery projects
• Work with hardwoods, softwoods, MDF, veneered boards, laminates and sheet materials
• Carry out quality inspections to ensure components meet customer and production requirements
• Prepare and collate completed parts for assembly and dispatch
• Identify and report machining, design or production issues
• Ensure materials are handled, stored and protected correctly throughout manufacture
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop
• Assist with general joinery and manufacturing duties when required

• Homag CNC Machining Centres
• Alphacam CAD/CAM Software
• WoodWOP CNC Programming Software
• Offline CNC Programming with transition to machine operation

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC woodworking machinery
• Previous experience within bespoke joinery, cabinet making, furniture manufacturing or commercial fit-out sectors
• Strong understanding of woodworking machinery and CNC manufacturing processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists and manufacturing instructions
• Experience working with hardwoods, softwoods, MDF, laminates and veneered panels
• Knowledge of joinery construction methods and assembly processes
• Experience operating workshop machinery including saws, planers, thicknessers and sanders
• Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work to production deadlines
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team

Qualifications

• Bench Joinery, Cabinet Making, Furniture Manufacturing or Machine Woodworking qualification preferred
• Time-served experience will also be considered
