Cover Supervisor

The Role

We are looking for a reliable, confident, and proactive Cover Supervisor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, whether you are an experienced supervisor or a graduate looking to gain classroom experience before pursuing a teaching career.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step in when a teacher is absent, ensuring that students remain on task, safe, and productive.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise Classes: Deliver pre-set work left by the teacher to students across various subjects.
• Behaviour Management: Maintain a calm and focused classroom environment using the school’s behaviour policy.
• Support Learning: Answer student questions and provide guidance to help them complete their tasks.
• Reporting: Take registers and provide brief feedback to the regular teacher on student progress and any issues.

What You Will Need

• Confidence: The ability to lead a room of 30+ students with authority and a positive attitude.
• Communication: Strong verbal skills to explain tasks and de-escalate situations.
• Resilience: A calm approach when dealing with challenging behaviour or unexpected changes to your schedule.
• Flexibility: The ability to adapt to different subjects and age groups throughout the day.
