Job Description:

JOB- Design Engineer

 

LOCATION- Chelmsford          

 

TERM- Permanent

 

SALARY- £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience

 

My client specialises in metalwork and fabrication, and they are looking to take on a Design Engineer on a permanent basis near Chelmsford.

 

The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• 1-5 years’ experience in a similar CAD Operation / Design Engineering / Mechanical Engineering position

• Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD & Tekla.

• Any previous experience of working with bespoke metalwork, structural steel, metal detailing
• Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar would be beneficial
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Proficient using MS Office
• Excellent organisational skills and time management skills

• Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

 

The Design Engineer role will involve:

• Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
• Producing 3D designs using AutoCAD software and Tekla
• Liaising with manufacturing providers
• Being involved in final assembly of products
• Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
• Checking drawings for sign off
• Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
