Job Description:

We are recruiting for an experienced Document Controller to join a leading construction contractor on a major build project in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and has strong experience managing project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective control, distribution, and management of all project documents while supporting the wider project team on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all project documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Upload, distribute, track, and archive project documentation using Viewpoint / 4Projects.
• Ensure all drawings, technical submissions, RFIs, and project correspondence are accurately controlled and recorded.
• Maintain document registers and ensure documentation is up to date and easily accessible.
• Coordinate document reviews and approvals with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Issue controlled copies of documentation to relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor document workflows and chase outstanding actions where necessary.
• Support project teams with reporting and document control processes.
• Ensure compliance with project-specific and company document management standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Document Controller within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience using Viewpoint / 4Projects is essential.
• Experience working on build, commercial, residential, mixed-use, or large-scale construction projects.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with project stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced site environment.
