Electrical Assembly Supervisor

Location: Braintree, Essex

Salary: £45,000–£48,000 DOE

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We're urgently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Assembly Supervisor to join an established electrical manufacturing business in Braintree.

This is a hands-on manufacturing environment, overseeing a team responsible for assembling, wiring and testing electrical products, including low-voltage distribution panels and switchgear.

We're looking for someone with a strong electrical assembly background who can lead a team, manage daily production and ensure high standards of quality and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of electrical assemblers and panel wirers.
• Plan daily workloads, allocate tasks and manage production priorities.
• Oversee the assembly, wiring, inspection and testing of electrical panels and components.
• Ensure products are manufactured to electrical drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor production output, resolve bottlenecks and maintain delivery schedules.
• Support team training, development and continuous improvement.
• Maintain high standards of workshop safety, organisation and efficiency.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within electrical assembly or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of electrical panel wiring, control panels, switchgear or LV distribution equipment.
• Experience with electrical assembly, testing and inspection processes.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
• Understanding of electrical components, cable terminations and busbars.
• Experience managing production workloads, quality standards and manufacturing teams.

This is a factory-based electrical assembly and manufacturing role, not a domestic or commercial electrical installation position.

We're particularly interested in candidates from electrical panel manufacturing, switchgear production, control panel assembly or similar electrical manufacturing environments.
