TeacherActive is currently recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistants to work within schools across Chelmsford and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teacher training, educational psychology, SEND, pastoral support or another career within education.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

• Assisting teachers with lessons and classroom activities

• Helping pupils understand tasks and remain engaged with their learning

• Providing additional support to pupils who may be struggling academically

• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs where required

• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence

• Helping to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment

• Preparing classroom resources and supporting lesson delivery

• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other education professionals

We would love to hear from you if you:

• Hold a university degree in any subject

• Are considering a future career within teaching or education

• Are enthusiastic, reliable and eager to gain classroom experience

• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Are confident building positive relationships with children and young people

• Are patient, adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team

• Have a genuine interest in supporting pupils with their learning and development

• Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential. Experience from tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, childcare, summer camps or other roles involving children and young people would also be valuable.
