Health and Safety Manager

Gravesend (With Travel to London)

Circa £75,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Irwin and Colton has been engaged by a large, high-profile specialist contractor operating across multiple sectors, including demolition and civil engineering, to recruit a Health and Safety Manager. This well-established organisation has been operating successfully for nearly 30 years and has built an outstanding reputation for delivering complex, high-profile projects across the UK.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager will include:

• Leading the delivery of the health and safety strategy across multiple projects while managing and developing the Health and Safety team
• Partnering with operational leadership to promote a positive safety culture and provide expert health and safety guidance
• Overseeing audits, inspections and incident investigations, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement
• Monitoring health and safety performance, reporting on key metrics and influencing strategic decision-making

The successful Health and Safety Manager will have:

• Proven experience in a Health and Safety Manager or senior health and safety leadership role within demolition, civil engineering or a related construction environment
• Experience managing health and safety teams and influencing senior operational stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 management systems, supported by a NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites
