Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Primary School

Southend-on-Sea | Full Time | September 2026 Start | 8:30am - 3:30pm

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a fantastic primary school in Southend-on-Sea to recruit an enthusiastic and confident HLTA for a full-time position starting in September.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys taking responsibility for leading lessons while also making a real impact through targeted intervention work.

What You'll Be Doing

As the school's HLTA, you'll play an important role in supporting teaching and learning by:

• Providing high-quality classroom cover across Early Years through to Year 6.

• Delivering planned lessons during teachers' PPA time, meetings and other planned absences.

• Running focused intervention groups and one-to-one sessions to support pupils who need additional help.

• Encouraging positive behaviour and creating an engaging learning environment.

• Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure every child reaches their potential.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Has HLTA status or proven experience leading whole-class learning in a primary school.

• Is confident adapting to different age groups and classroom settings.

• Can motivate and inspire children with a positive and nurturing approach.

• Has excellent communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team.

• Is organised, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality education.
