Retail Finance and Sales Support Specialist, Basildon, Essex, Hybrid Working

Fixed-Term Contract - December 2026 – March 2028

Permanent equivalent salary range of £42,000–£52,000 per annum

We are recruiting a Retail Finance Support Specialist / Finance Sales Support Specialist / Sales Support Executive / Credit Support Specialist to join an established team working within a corporate head office environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global organisation, working at the heart of its retail finance operation and supporting the sale of high value goods.

Contract Details:

• Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover, December 2026 to March 2028.
• Salary: Permanent equivalent salary of £42,000–£52,000 per annum.
• Two days per week in the office, 3 days working from home (initially, three office days per week for training is required).
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break (37.5 hours per week).

The Retail Finance and Sales Support Specialist Role

Working as part of a small team, you will provide day-to-day support to dealers, customers and field-based Sales Managers, managing finance applications from initial quotation through to credit approval and payout.

You will play an important role in ensuring finance applications are processed accurately and efficiently, responding to dealer queries and helping sales teams secure business. The position combines finance administration, credit application processing, customer service and internal sales support in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Finance Application Processing: Manage retail finance proposals from initial quotation through to submission, approval and payout, ensuring applications are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Dealer & Customer Support: Act as a key point of contact for dealers and customers, responding to telephone and online enquiries relating to finance applications, quotations, credit decisions and contractual requirements.
• Credit Assessment & Approval: Support customer risk assessments, collect the necessary documentation and communicate credit decisions, working within company credit policies and delegated approval authorities.
• Sales Team Support: Work closely with Sales Managers to progress finance applications, resolve queries and help deliver timely finance solutions to support vehicle and machinery sales.
• Dealer Relationships: Build effective working relationships with dealer contacts, providing clear guidance and helping resolve commercial and administrative issues.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Prepare and analyse sales and finance data, including KPIs, dealer performance, finance penetration, margins and applications requiring further processing.
• Documentation & Contracts: Liaise with internal servicing and other departments to ensure documentation is complete, contractual terms are correct and electronic signatures are obtained.
• Systems & Administration: Maintain accurate records, input transactions into internal quotation systems and manage applications requiring additional validation.

Your background as a Retail Finance and Sales Support Specialist

We are interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Retail finance, vehicle finance, banking or credit administration.
• Vehicle sales, dealership administration or automotive sales support.
• Credit applications, lending, credit control or credit collections.
• Sales administration or customer support in a fast-paced commercial environment.

You will also demonstrate:

• Strong IT skills, with the ability to navigate computer-based systems and process applications accurately and efficiently.
• Good numerical skills and confidence working with figures, data and basic Excel reporting.
• Excellent telephone communication skills and the ability to build relationships with dealers, customers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive, resilient approach, particularly when responding to time-sensitive requests from sales teams and dealers.
• The confidence to communicate clearly, follow established credit procedures and ensure the correct documentation and approvals are in place.
