We are seeking a commercially focused Sales Executive to join a growing business based in Hertford.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing strong B2B relationships and delivering a high standard of service throughout the customer journey. This varied role involves proactive business development, client meetings, commercial negotiations and collaboration with internal teams.
 
The position would suit a confident and motivated sales professional with experience in the food and drink sector who enjoys building relationships and winning new business.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking and strategic prospecting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing B2B customers.
• Understand customers' requirements and present appropriate, commercially viable solutions.
• Manage the sales process from initial contact through to negotiation and close.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts and commercial terms.
• Arrange and attend client meetings, presentations and industry events.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date pipeline using the company's CRM system.
• Work closely with internal departments to ensure the smooth onboarding and delivery of new accounts.
• Respond promptly to customer enquiries and resolve any issues effectively.
• Monitor market activity, customer trends and competitor developments.
• Provide regular updates on sales activity, opportunities and performance.
• Contribute to agreed revenue, new-business and profitability targets.
• Represent the business professionally during all customer interactions.

Skills and Experience

• Previous B2B sales experience, including at least one year within the food and drink industry.
• A proven track record of generating leads, winning new business and developing commercial relationships.
• Strong prospecting, negotiation and closing skills.
• Confident and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
• A customer-focused approach with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
• Commercial awareness and the confidence to discuss pricing and contract terms.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable working independently and managing a varied sales pipeline.
• Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
• A proactive, resilient and results-driven approach.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum of one year's food and drink sales experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel for approximately 50% of the role.
