TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic SEND school based in DA, who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant. The school has a fantastic reputation and a great OFSTED rating, with a nurturing and inclusive ethos that enables every pupil to achieve their full potential in a safe and supportive learning environment.

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from September. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be supporting pupils with Autism / ASD and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), providing classroom support, assisting with personal care where required, and helping to create a positive, engaging learning environment. Previous experience within education or a care setting is essential, along with the ability to adapt to the individual needs of each child.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working within a SEND school, care setting or similar environment
• Experience supporting children or young people with Autism / ASD and PMLD
• Confidence providing personal care
• Excellent communication skills
• A positive, patient and adaptable approach
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
