Job Description:

SEN Mentor / Coach – Brentwood, Essex

£30 to £35 per hour

• Home-based mentoring, family home in Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood
• 4 hours per week (2 days per week, 2 hours per day)
• Start date: 1st September 2026

The Role
We are looking for a calm, patient SEN Mentor to support a Year 10 student on a 1:1 basis at home. The student has autism and significant anxiety, and has been unable to attend school since February 2024. This is not a tutoring role. As SEN Mentor, you will focus on building trust and reducing isolation through interest-led activities, at the student's own pace.

What We're Looking For

• Experience as an SEN Mentor supporting autistic young people with significant anxiety
• Understanding of low-demand, child-led approaches
• Patient, consistent and reliable
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
