Luxury Restaurant | West Mersea

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join the team at a luxury restaurant in West Mersea.

We're looking for someone who loves exceptional food, works with the finest seasonal produce, and enjoys leading a team in a quality-driven kitchen. Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding dining experiences while helping to inspire and develop those around you.

As Sous Chef, you will:

• Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Lead kitchen service, preparation, and closing procedures.
• Train, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team across all sections.
• Manage ordering, stock control, and maintain exceptional kitchen standards.
• Contribute to menu development and take ownership of key menu sections.
• Lead by example, ensuring consistency, quality, and attention to detail in every service.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has at least 3 years' experience as a Senior Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef within a quality restaurant.
• Is a confident leader with excellent people management skills.
• Balances creativity with consistency and strong organisational skills.
• Is ready to take the next step in their career within a high-end hospitality environment.

• 40-45 hours per week across 4-5 days.
• Two consecutive days off each week (Monday and Tuesday).
• A variety of shifts including:
  • 7:30am-3:00pm
  • 9:00am-4:00pm
  • 4:00pm-11:00pm
  • 9:00am-11:00pm (with a two-hour break)
• Closed every year on 25th and 26th December.
