Job Description:

Tax Senior / Semi Senior | Colchester | Competitive salary, dependent on experience

Personal tax roles that come with genuine advisory exposure are not that easy to find, and this is one of them.

A well-regarded firm of chartered certified accountants with offices across Essex is growing and wants a Tax Senior or Semi Senior for the tax team in their Colchester office. You would sit alongside the Tax Director, which means the advisory work is not something you get to look at once a year, it is part of the job.

What you'll be doing:

• Running a mixed portfolio of high net worth individuals, directors, self-employed clients, subcontractors and partnerships
• Preparing tax returns, along with self-employed and partnership accounts
• Capital Gains Tax work, including 60 day property filings
• Supporting the Tax Director with ad hoc advisory work
• Preparing P11Ds
• Dealing directly with HMRC and speaking to clients yourself

What they're looking for:

• At least three years in a busy tax department within practice
• Solid practical knowledge of personal tax
• CGT experience, including 60 day property reporting
• Someone confident with clients and comfortable dealing with people at all levels
• A proactive approach rather than waiting to be handed work
