Job Description:

We’re working with a global logistics company who is looking to appoint an experienced Transport Planner / Coordinator to join their busy transport operation in Stanford-le-Hope. This is a key role within the planning team, responsible for ensuring the efficient scheduling and movement of goods across the UK and European network.

The role suits someone who enjoys fast-paced planning, problem solving, and working closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transport routes to ensure efficient and cost-effective deliveries and collections
• Monitor vehicle availability and driver schedules to maximise utilisation
• Communicate with drivers, subcontractors, and customers regarding schedules, delays, and updates
• Ensure all loads are compliant with transport regulations and company procedures
• React quickly to operational issues, providing practical solutions to minimise disruption
• Maintain accurate system records, including job updates and delivery statuses
• Support with KPI tracking and performance reporting where required
• Work closely with internal departments such as warehouse and customer service teams

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in transport planning or coordination within a logistics or freight environment
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK (European knowledge beneficial)
• Confident communicator with a professional and practical approach
• Experience using transport management systems (TMS) or similar software

Salary between £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience

Stable Monday to Friday working hours (08:00 – 17:00)
