Plant / HGV Engineer

Witham Area - Salary from £20+ per hour DOE - Workshop-Based - Family-Run Business

Holt Recruitment is working on behalf of a successful family-run asphalt company who are looking to add an experienced Plant / HGV Engineer to their team.

This is a genuinely varied, hands-on role which is primarily workshop based, working across a range of plant machinery, HGVs and associated asphalt equipment. You’ll be responsible for keeping machinery and vehicles maintained, carrying out repairs and fault-finding, as well as getting involved with welding and fabrication when required.

The Role:

• Primarily workshop-based, maintaining a varied range of plant, HGVs and equipment
• Routine servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
• Fault-finding and diagnostics
• Welding and fabrication work
• Working on a variety of machinery and equipment, making this a genuinely varied role
• Occasional work outside of the workshop when required
• Supporting the day-to-day running and reliability of the company’s fleet

The Person:

• Previous experience working on plant, HGVs or similar heavy equipment
• Strong mechanical knowledge and practical repair skills
• Welding/fabrication experience would be highly beneficial
• HGV Licence desirable but not essential
• A reliable, hands-on engineer who enjoys working on a variety of equipment

Salary & Benefits:

• £20+ per hour DOE
• Van + fuel card provided after successful probation period for commuting
